Our Legacy and Evolution

Agostini Solutions Plus, formerly Agostini Building Solutions, has a rich history that spans several decades, beginning as the trading arm of Agostini’s Limited. Over time, we transitioned from offering basic hardware products to becoming a comprehensive solutions provider across Building & Industrial, Lighting & Power, and Imaging & Agri sectors.

Our journey began in the 1960s with the importation and sale of plywood, carpet, USG Drywall, and Armstrong flooring and ceiling systems. This expansion naturally led to the introduction of interior contracting services, which quickly became a substantial contributor to our sales and profits.

1984

In 1984, we acquired Hilti W.L. Yearwood Limited, a strategic addition that strengthened our presence in the industrial market, particularly within fastening systems for industrial maintenance and oil and gas applications. The subsequent acquisition of the Sika brand of construction and industrial adhesives and chemicals further reinforced our expertise in this space.

Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, we consistently introduced innovative solutions to support design professionals and contractors. Notable contributions included:

LATICRETE sound control thinset solution – revolutionizing sound reduction in high-rise residential construction.
Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF) – elevating local furniture and cabinetry manufacturing to international quality standards.

By the mid-2000s, we had positioned our contracting division as the leading interior fit-out contractor in Trinidad & Tobago. However, despite the success of this business segment, we made a strategic decision to divest our services business and concentrate on a solutions-oriented approach to product sales and distribution.

In 2019, our acquisition of Lightsource Limited fueled the creation of our Lighting & Power division, expanding our expertise into LED, solar lighting, electrical cables, and photovoltaic systems.

In 2022, we entered the agricultural market, offering a diverse range of crop protection and production solutions. This expansion solidified our position as a diversified company, serving B2B customers through a solutions-driven sales approach.

In 2025, the company officially rebranded to Agostini Solutions Plus, marking a pivotal moment in its evolution.
